#1 - Prepare Your Resume
All job positions are idiosyncratic, which mean not all jobs are the same. The best way to make sure your resume is fit for the job is to tailor your resume and experiences to fit the job description.
#2 Do Your Research
What is Disney (or the company you are applying for)? What do they stand for? What type of candidates are they looking for? Do you meet the job criteria? What can you offer? Make sure to do your research on the company and practice, practice, practice potential interview questions!
#3 Relax!
There is a reason the recruiter is contacting you and that is because you are deemed a good fit for the position!
#4 Ask Questions
Do as questions! This makes sure you are engaged and interested with the company and the role! Try to avoid any questions about benefits, compensation or any other question that you can easily find online.
So, now that you have prepared yourself, you are ready for the phone screen! Here are the phone screen questions that I was asked during my professional internship phone screen:
(These are in no way the only questions that will be asked, but are a set of questions provided for me.)
- Questions asked for confirmation (Are you here on a student Visa?, Have you graduated already/Are you currently enrolled in college?, Are you over the age of 18?, Can you provide your own transportation during the internship?)
- Tell me about yourself
- Why do you want to work for Disney?
- This internship entails ______ (you can find a general idea of the role in the job description, but the recruiter tends to elaborate on the position here) tell me about your experience with this?
- Do you have experience with _______ (business software)?
- Do you have an questions for me?
